ETC Simulation To Sponsor ADMS Training Day To Benefit Florida First Responders

Southampton, Penn., September 25, 2012 – In recognition of September as National Preparedness Month, ETC’s Simulation Division, located in Orlando, FL, is partnering with the Florida Division of Emergency Management to provide a complimentary full day of emergency management training to benefit local first responders. On September 28, 2012, emergency responders will visit the ADMS Innovation Center in Orlando to rehearse on-scene incident command skills and off-scene command post activities using the Advanced Disaster Management Simulator (ADMS™). This annual event allows local agencies to better prepare for and mitigate potential disasters.

“We are pleased that we can continue to offer this training day to members of our local first response teams,” said Lori Bozenbury, Director of Business Development for ETC Simulation. “We appreciate their continued commitment to keeping the community safe during disasters. We are looking forward to this year’s simulation training day and hope to make a positive impact on these outstanding agencies’ emergency preparedness.”

The challenging training simulation will feature multiple incidents in multiple locations. Scenarios were designed to give the participating departments unique challenges according to their skills. Participants will include representatives from the Florida Division of Emergency Management, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Orlando Fire, Orange County Fire Rescue, Region 5 Hazmat Team, Florida Task Force Four Urban Search and Rescue Team, and University of Central Florida.

“During National Preparedness Month, it is important to ensure that not only our families and businesses are prepared, but also our emergency responders,” said Bryan W. Koon, Director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management. “This is an opportunity for the Division to coordinate with ETC Simulation to further develop the culture of preparedness in Florida.”

The Florida Division of Emergency Management ensures that Florida is prepared to respond to emergencies, recover from them, and mitigate their impacts. The State Emergency Response Team (SERT) includes various governmental entities, volunteers, and the private sector.
