ETC’s Simulation Division Awarded Contract by Royal Netherlands Air Force to Deliver the Advanced Disaster Management Simulator (ADMS™)
Southampton, PA, USA, October 19, 2011 – Environmental Tectonics Corporation’s (“ETC” or the “Company”) Simulation Division, located in Orlando, FL, has contracted with the Royal Netherlands Air Force (“RNLAF”) for the delivery of an ADMS-AIRBASE training system.
The virtual reality simulation system will be installed at the RNLAF Fire Academy at Woendrecht Airbase in the Netherlands, and used for training and assessment of on-scene incident and vehicle commanders. ADMS is a powerfully realistic solution that will enhance the RNLAF’s training of critical command and control skills needed when faced with a military airbase aircraft or helicopter incident. The chosen simulation system is portable and will allow both in-residence training and deployment to off-site locations. The flexibility of the ADMS portable system is expected to reduce overall training and operational costs while increasing learning retention and performance of trainees.
“We are proud that RNLAF, representing another NATO-country, has chosen ADMS-AIRBASE to deliver true-to-life incident command and emergency response training,” said Marco van Wijngaarden, President of ETC Simulation. “This recent contract solidifies the value that ADMS brings to military organizations worldwide. The flexibility and capabilities ADMS offers is unique among virtual training tools, and we are very pleased that RNLAF has placed their confidence in our proven system. Many organizations are confronted with severe budget constraints, while being held accountable for performance of their response organization. ADMS allows for training and rehearsal of mission-critical scenarios anytime, anywhere, at a fraction of the costs of live exercises.”
ADMS-AIRBASE includes an exact virtual reality replica of the Norma Brown Airbase, the renowned fictitious airbase used by the DOD Fire Academy at Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, TX, USA. Included in the simulation are staffed vehicles, military specific aircraft and a variety of incidents including crashes and structural fires. The DOD and RNLAF Fire Academies will be collaborating on the development of effective exercises using ADMS and best practice recommendations to meet the challenging needs of an airbase training curriculum.
ADMS™ is the high-fidelity Virtual Reality Simulation Training Stage that houses multiple products to include Incident Command training from technical to strategic level (ADMS-COMMAND), driver training and vehicle operation (ADMS-ARFF and ADMS-DRIVE) and Police Coordination Center (ADMS-CONTROL). ETC’s signature technology blends physics-based simulation, embedded artificial intelligence, accurate animations, photo-realistic graphics, ambient sounds, vehicle controls, and motion platforms to totally immerse trainees in the exercise. ADMS enables first responders and emergency managers to prepare at all levels of response, in a safe, economical and environmentally-conscious way.
